Highlands Cottege Charity

The Highlands Cottage Charity was established in 1992 to provide housing for people who had an employment connection with Amberley Church, Amberley Parochial School or who are in specific need. Currently the Charity has five properties within the village which are let out to tenants who come from or have a close connection with Amberley and meet defined criteria for consideration.

The Charity is managed by a Trust Board under the auspices of a Charitable Trust Deed and is ‘regulated’ by the Charity Commission.

The Charity is not at present required to be registered with a recognised housing regulator; the type of landlord service provided by the Highlands Cottage Charity seems more in line with an Almshouse provider than social housing provision.

The seven Trustees play an essential role in the governance of the Highlands Cottage Charity serving as a means of communication, bringing professional experience and ensuring that the Charity is well managed.

If you would like to make an application for consideration of one of our five properties or for more information regarding the Charity, please contact:
