Hello everyone,

Firstly, I hope that everyone is keeping well. On Thursday we heard that we will be able to meet with other families in open spaces or our own gardens up to a maximum of six people. Some National Trust properties are opening next week but not Newark Park yet. This means that there will be more traffic on the roads so we will need to be a little more observant when we are out and about.

Dear All,

Firstly, I hope that everyone is keeping well. Now that the lockdown has eased a little the common and the lanes in the village are a little busier. Sadly there has been some vandalism and theft reported on Everything Amberley. But, on the plus side, Winston’s have re-opened and have a queuing system. On one of our walks this week we saw a number of people sitting on the grass gazing across the valley whilst enjoying an ice cream.

Dear All,

Firstly, I hope that everyone is keeping well. The lockdown continues but with fewer restrictions. On Wednesday we saw our first golfer and our first cows on the common. On Saturday the Church would have hosted the annual newcomers party. Sadly we cannot welcome everyone who has moved into the village over the last year in person but we welcome you virtually.

UPDATE ON SHOP OPENING HOURS

We will be reducing the days of operation to Monday’s, Tuesdays and Fridays due to demand levels.

Operation of preordering will remain the same but collections between 10.30 and 12 will only be on these days with immediate effect. Thank you very much those who have supported the shop and your local pub

Gina Hastings has had a good take up on her offer of free re-usable face masks - 20 have gone out so far! However, she has run out of white 4mm elastic. She has some on order but needs some as soon as possible! Also more pure cotton material may be needed with a 400 to 500 thread count.

If people have spare elastic or material could they donate it to Gina. She can be contacted on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Dear All,

Firstly, I hope that everyone is keeping well. The lockdown continues. We await the announcement by the Prime Minister on Sunday. We can only speculate what changes that announcement may bring about. But for some self-isolation may continue. This may make life more difficult as their enforced solitude will continue while others may have more freedoms. After Sunday it may be even more important to support these people. Some of the volunteers have offered to call people so if you think there is someone who would like a chat with a different person, let me know on 876173.

All events are cancelled at the moment but the Gardening Club are holding monthly Zoom meetings and the next is at 7.30pm on 14 May.
They have also set up a Whatsapp group to share ideas and photos etc between meetings.

We may have missed the Cow Hunt this year but the pupils who are in school have decorated the railing outside school with some cow caricatures.
If you are able to take your exercise past the school please go and see them.  They may be complemented by VE day bunting.

With love and peace
Reverend John
